Styx was one of the biggest album-rock bands of the late '70s, capable of producing monster hits with their stadium rock, power ballads, and concept albums. More than any other art-rock band, Styx was able to cross over into the pop charts, scoring hits with "Babe," "Lady," "Come Sail Away," "Too Much Time on My Hands," and "Don't Let It End."

Styx broke up in 1984, but then reformed with all original members in the mid-90's to re-record their first hit, "Lady" for their Greatest Hits album. This spawned a brief reunion tour, but was short-lived, and soon after came the apparent final departure of founder/lead vocalist Dennis DeYoung.

Light Up is a Milwaukee-based group of musicians who faithfully recreate the Styx catalogue from the 1970s through the 80s. Lead singer Bobby Rouse's uncanny similarity to Dennis DeYoung's signature voice provides a foundation for the band to build on. Melodic guitar harmonies and rich synth textures round out the arsenal to bring back the sound that defined "art rock".
Though the band does not profess to be an impersonators act, Light Up's incredible sound and light show create the "Grand Illusion" of a live Styx concert experience.
